Wallpaper was once in style decades ago and today people are getting rid of it at an alarming rate. Nobody likes to remove it either because it can be a very slow, agonizing process. A lot more goes into removing wallpaper than people think.
Just like any other interior project we do its always necessary to have a good work area. Plastic and drop clothes get spread out everywhere to for protection. Last thing we want is glue residue on your trim or a hot steamer on your hardwood floors.
Time to have some fun and remove that flower wallpaper from the 80's! Everyone always seems to have some secret recipe to removing wallpaper and a lot of variables go into predicting how well it will come off. Chances are it will fight us a bit. We always tell our customers the best and worst case scenario for how long it will take us to remove the wallpaper.
Once the hideous wallpaper is removed its time to make any necessary repairs. A lot of times the wallpaper is on the wall so well that getting it off can sometimes damage the wall a little bit. Once the repairs are made and sanded we apply a primer to block out any remaining glue that is left behind.
Once the primer is applied we always look for any last minute repairs that were missed in the first round. Once everything is the same color, sometimes more repairs will become visible. Once those are taken care of applying the topcoat is all thats left! We recommend a flat or a matte finish for all wallpaper removal jobs.
